Apple to Pay Out $53 Million Over iPhone Water Damage Warranty Issues

Apple has agreed to pay out a weighty $53 million to settle a lawsuit which saw the company accused of not correctly honoring warranties of iPhone and iPod Touches, reports Wired . So, if you were refused warranty service over water exposure for a the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, or a first-, second or third-generation iPod Touch, you could be in for a payout. The sums are expected to be in the region of $


The Secret HTC-Apple Settlement Might Not Be Quite So Secret

Last month HTC and Apple decided to play nice when they reached a settlement over a patent license. While Apple was forced to tell Samsung how much that deal was worth, it thought the rest of the case was secret—but it turns out that might not quite be the case . In a court ruling from US District Court Judge Lucy Koh, it's been made obvious that secrets only stretch so far: That means the full list of patents discussed in the case and settlement should be publicly available at some point.
