The last time we heard from Denmark-based, fancy audio purveyor Libratone, they made one of the finest AirPlay speakers we had ever heard . At $400, the Zipp wasn't cheap, but it was considerably cheaper than anything else we had ever seen/heard from the company before.

The iPad 5 looks as though it’ll be taking its design cues from the little tablet that could, the iPad Mini, if the latest supply chain leak is to be believed. SW-Box has gotten its hands on what it claims is the latest Apple tablet shell, and it’s looking decidedly Mini-like.

The trajectory of the iPhone is, in most ways, the trajectory of Apple over the past decade. Insane ambition, untouchable dominance, the inevitable slowing of momentum. And now, reinvention, sort of.

An Apple employee is never supposed to point when giving directions in their store. For example, when asked where the iPhone cases are sold, a specialist should either gesture with an open hand or, preferably, walk the customer to the proper location. If you've ever wandered into an Apple Store just to covertly check your email, you know it's no big deal! Apple wants you to feel right at home in their stores

We've already seen a possible 'Space Gray' version of the upcoming iPad Mini 2 floating around and now it's time for the big brother version to get covered in gray steel too.

Like anything that has been predicted and anticipated for ages, intrigued users will dive in, and in all likelihood, millions upon millions of them will become regular users.

Happy iOS 7 day! There's so much 5S and 5C goodness floating around that something inevitably is going to need to balance it out. And that's where the 5C case comes in.

Foxconn has gone into serious damage control this week , with CEO Guo Tai-ming inviting 100 members of the press to view the facilities today. Even Apple and Dell, two companies whose products are produced in Foxconn's factories, have spoken out. Apple released a statement saying that they are "saddened and upset by the recent suicides at Foxconn," confirming that they are "in direct contact with Foxconn senior management and we believe they are taking this matter very seriously." While most of the media fixates on the relationship between Foxconn and Apple, for want of a sexier story, Dell meanwhile has also spoken about the suicides, saying that: "We expect our suppliers to employ the same high standards we do in our own facilities

The Maps Wars are on in earnest—with Apple Maps now finding its feet after a shaky start, and Bing Maps forming an integral part of Windows Phone, Google Maps can't afford to stand still.

The MagSafe power cord is one of Apple's smartest features . They tend to crap out after a few months of hard use, though, thanks either to your poor wire-wrapping technique or your dog's penchant for copper wire.

Rejoice, humans of the Earth, for the ugly off-center 1 in Apple iOS 7's Calendar app icon has been at last, FIXED! It took almost two entire years of design rants after every update, but someone in Cupertino has at last listened and corrected what was a horrible design decision made by someone else who is no longer in Cupertino. iOS 7 beta 4 has a perfectly centered 1. Before, Apple centered the first day of the calendar using its bounding box.

Apple, which hates Google, is supposedly working with Yahoo, who will take anybody's love at this point, to figure out how "Yahoo's services can play a prominent role on Apple's iPhone and iPad", according to the WSJ. This actually shouldn't be too much of a surprise as data from Yahoo Finance and weather already pops up on the iPhone. The WSJ says Yahoo has also "contemplated ways" to replace Google as the search engine for iOS but the idea "remains a long shot" because of Yahoo's partnership with Bing (Bing powers Yahoo, after all)

If you've been lusting after a new skinny 27-inch iMac but also baulking at the price, here's some good news: you can now save (a little!) by buying one from Apple's refurb store . You can pick up the base model 27-inch iMac—with 2.9GHz Core i5, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD—for $1,

Back in 2011, when Steve Jobs announced his plans to build a spaceship-like Cupertino HQ for Apple , we all knew it was going to be one ridiculously lavish office. But according to Bloomberg Businessweek, it's due for a bit of a downgrade before construction starts this June. It'll still be crazy, just not totally absurd

According to the Wall Street Journal , Apple is already getting started on building "a refreshed iPhone similar in size and shape to its current one" this quarter, and it might be out as early as the summer. The most interesting thing about the iPhone back in the summer, though, is a precedent of accelerated release cycles. The iPad got an unexpected bump last fall, with a new processor, and this would be the second consecutive chip pushed out ahead of the typical schedule.

Somersby Cider in the UK created a cheeky commercial that pokes fun of Apple product launches by imagining a world where buying hard cider is like getting a new iPhone. The Genius Bar would be a real bar and workers would talk about how many cores inside the apple, how many pits and how to use the "in to face" and dock the glass of hard cider.

The Financial Times is reporting that Google is making its own version of a smart watch. What's interesting is that it's not Google's experimental arm X Labs developing the watch but rather Google's Android unit. According to FT, this smart watch would be completely different from Samsung's smart watch (which is also reportedly in development).

Apple's Podcasts app has long been a horrid example of Scott Forstall's most epic crime as a software designer: Skeuomorphism. Why do I need a graphic of a reel-to-reel tape machine in my app?

Samsung's mobile executive VP Lee Young Hee has come out and confirmed that the company is hard at work preparing a new smart watch.

Samsung's announcing the Galaxy S IV tomorrow but before it does, Apple wanted to take a few shots at Android. Phil Schiller, Apple's Senior Vice President of Marketing, crapped all over Android telling the WSJ that, "Android is often given a free replacement for a feature phone and the experience isn't as good as an iPhone." We already knew Apple and Google were in a war so them's fighting words about Android aren't exactly surprising. It's just interesting to see Apple try and knock Android down a few notches before the S IV's big coming out party (Schiller said that four times as many iPhone users switched from Android as opposed to to Android last quarter)

Even though we're going to be whoa'd and inspired by the future that Google Glass and the Apple iWatch will bring, let's not kid ourselves. The most realistic future is going to be the silly arguments we all get into about Google Glass and the Apple iWatch

Judge Lucy Koh has given Samsung a huge discount on the damages it owes Apple. Originally billed to pay Apple over $1 billion, Judge Koh has cut $450,514,650 from Samsung's tab. The new total that Samsung owes is $598,908,

It should come as no surprise that iPhones and iPads are prime targets for theft, but it's gotten really bad in New York City. It's so bad that, according to the New York Post , the NYPD is setting up a unit specifically to handle iDevice theft and work with Apple to track down the thieves. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne put it this way to The Post : Historically, Apple has been pretty hands-off when it comes to helping law enforcement track down stolen devices

If Apple's upcoming campus is a spaceship , then NVIDIA's planned headquarters must be the alien planet that it lands on. Celebrating its 20th year birthday, NVIDIA has announced plans to build a building that looks if not completely alien than at the very least reptilian. It's gotta be fun when you go to work and it feels like you're visiting another planet.

There's no such thing as the Apple iWatch, and maybe there never will be. But if Cupertino does start selling futurustic Jetsons wrist wear, you need to prepare for one thing: looking like a jackass in public
