It’s official a big misunderstanding. The iPhone 5S and the budget iPhone 5C will will probably still, but not officially yet make their debut on Sept. 10th. The invites are aren’t mailed, the drapery is is not being frilled, the hip-but-not-too-hip soundtrack is actually probably is being prepped. Here we go again.

The details of what we’re expecting haven’t changed much since AllThingsD first reported that Sept 10th would be the day of the big reveal. An overview follows below, but you can also check out our in-depth iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C rumor roundups. One thing’s for certain, though; there won’t be many surprises. [The Verge]

Update: Because we’re not generally invited to Apple events, we were going off of a report by The Verge, linked above, which now leads to a 404. Apparently a publishing error led them to unleash a prewritten report in anticipation of the announcement:

Sorry, I haven’t been invited to an Apple event. Publishing error on our part.

Here’s what it looked like, though, in case you missed it:

Apologies for the inconvenience; rest assured that you will see basically this exact same post once the invites are actually out.
